No Birds originated in 2008 as a 70′s dub and glitch influenced studio project of Justin McArthur aka Let’s Be Modern, who alongside many years of producing post-punk experiments, live electronics, acid house and techno; is also a current member of the post punk discotheque trio, Question Question (also on Pilot Records).

Is now proud to present the release of his first EP under the ‘No Birds’ moniker; you get the feeling it has a more left field sound and architecture to most of the other projects Justin has previously been involved with – there are clear influences from dub greats such as King Tubby, Mad Professor and the like, utilising the classic long tape delays and analogue atmospheres. Also brought into the mix are elements of glitch, hip hop and also some digital creations which have been made available in this current day and age. When brought together all these influences create a very atmospheric, image-inducing soundscape of smooth tones and sub harmonic grooves which venture into both the dark and light sides of the emotional spectrum.
